Our Story

In the mid 1980's a group of men and women who had a heart for missions saw a wonderful opportunity to establish a church that would reach the growing city of Southaven, MS. At the end of the decade a pastor was selected and his name was Don Gregory.

In January of 1990, Don and his wife Linda and their three girls arrived in Southaven. By fall of that year they had been meeting with a small nucleus of people who would bravely become the core group for the new church. The name was chosen as Community General Baptist Church.

In 1992 the group did a re-launch and rented in a building off of Nail Road and Hwy 51. While in that location the church grew and by the 1990s came to a close Community General Baptist became Southaven Community Church and we began to build our church.

The church moved into their current building in April 2000. Through the years Southaven Community Church or SCC has grown from a small group to a vibrant church. Here, not only will you find growth but, you will also find "A Place to Belong."
